What is Deeksha ?

The word "deeksha" is derived from the Sanskrit language and is often translated as "initiation," "consecration," or "empowerment." It refers to a sacred and formal ritual through which an individual is initiated into a specific spiritual path or tradition. Deeksha can be given by a guru (spiritual teacher) to a disciple as a way to transmit spiritual knowledge, blessings, or divine grace. The process involves a formal ceremony or ritual during which the guru imparts spiritual teachings and sometimes initiates the disciple into a particular mantra or meditation practice.

Types of Deeksha

1. Gruhast Deeksha: This Deeksha will be given to people who are living with their families and in society. And people who are living by doing work of social well being and are engaged in activities supporting the livelihood. This Deeksha allows person to practice spirituality without living the home. 2. Sadhu Deeksha: This process is done for the people who want to live in Society and guide ton the people about living spiritual life. It requires the person to wear the holy saffron cloths offered by Guru and pronounce the mantra given by Guru. Essentially he has to practice the daily rituals of worshipping god and Guru. Sadhu has to live a simple life without attachment to worldly comforts. 3. Sanyas Deeksha: This is the ultimate exit from worldly life renouncing all and dedicating the rest of the life to uplift the soul to higher state for liberation and union with divine.

Who is Sadhu ?

The person willing to come into mainstream of yogis, who live in seclusion and follow the path of divine. Essentially doing the sadhana (disciplined way of performing meditation under guidance of Guru), without harming nature and the laws of Karma. He spends time in contemplation and always think liberation of his/her soul and overall well-being of the world.

How to initiate Sadhu Deeksha ?

The person who wants to live Sadhu Life, has to undergo spiritual process which is called as Deeksha. This will be performed on a selected days of the year by Shri Panchayati Akhada Mahanirvani, Kankhal, Haridwar, Uttara Khand, at holy river Ganga.

Who will give Sadhu Deeksha ?

Mahamandaleshwar Shri Giridhar Giriji and Mahanth Shri Vinod Giri Ji (Hanuman Baba) both are our Gurus at Mahanirvana Yoga. They are the senior Monk and spiritual leaders at holy city of Haridwar, under their guidance selected spiritual seekers will receive the Sadhu Deeksha.

Who can become sadhu?

1. Any one from any part of the world, any background culture and religion can become a Sadhu, without leaving his regular lifestyle. 2. He has to stop consuming Alcohal and smoking (any other addiction). 3. Not to violence to any living being. 4. Should follow strict vegetarian diet. 5. No discrimination of Age, Sex and Nationality. 6. Person should be serious about the purpose of life, which is to lead the self and others on the path of spirituality.

What is the suitable time for Initiating the Deeksha ?

We are arranging for the Deeksha ceremonies during the specific period of every year, starting from the month of September till April. Actual date and time will be informed over mail or call after filling registration form for Deeksha.

What will be the cost for initiating Deeksha ?

There will be no mandatory fees for taking Deeksha, a seeker can donate as per his wish as Guru Dakshina to serve the world.

What are the benefits of receiving Deeksha ?

Seeker will be getting formally connected with mainstream Sadhu community of India. With new spiritual name he will be born again in this same life to live as the monk with purpose he deserves. All Ashrams and Temples in India, recognize the Deeksha initiation which is conferred by Mahanirvani Akhada, Haridwar. This is the opportunity for the seeker to have a countrywide acceptance and welcome from different communities of India, supporting his spiritual journey in the form of travel and living (food and accommodation). After Deekha seeker will be registered officially with his Spiritual name and all past life information at the head quarter of Sadhus at Haridwar. It is important for seeker to have authenticated status while continuing his practice in different parts of the country.
